PEORIA, Ariz. —
Outfielder Taylor Trammell remained in big-league camp after Sunday’s re-assignment of 12 players to minor league camp.
Given the way he has been hitting the ball, it was not a surprise. And it is part of a plan for the organization’s third-ranked position prospect.
“Just being around the major league staff, more imporantly around the major league players,” Tingler said. “We think it’s been a great experience. We’d like to see him continue to play and continue to gain valuable experience.”
That is a priority that contrasts with the plan with someone like 21-year-old catcher Luis Campusano, the Padres’ second-ranked position prospect, who was sent to minor league camp Sunday, because Trammell is closer to the majors.
