Andy Green is just as big a fan of watching Fernando Tatis Jr. play as anyone.
Bigger even, since the things the rookie is doing on the field directly affect the success of the team Green manages.
But it is that vested interest that will keep Green from giving in to the temptation to put the Padres’ 20-year-old shortstop in the lineup every day.
“We’re going to be disciplined letting him rest at times,” Green said. “I don’t like letting him rest, if I’m being honest. I like watching him play every day.
