Finally, it seems, the next king has arrived.
At least that’s how it seemed, based on the tenor and amount of coverage devoted to the event.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the son of a Hall of Famer and almost universally considered the top prospect in baseball, made his debut starting at third base Friday for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The kid who beat Guerrero to the big leagues was thrilled.
“Just happy for that 2015 class,” Fernando Tatis Jr., who has generally been considered the game’s No. 2 prospect, said before Friday’s game.
