The difference between Freddy Galvis and Fernando Tatis Jr. can be seen in the nature of the Padres’ appreciation for the two shortstops.
“Freddy” was good. “Tati” is magnificent.
They were grateful to have Galvis in 2018. He was what they needed to shore up what had for some time been a leaky infield. They are giddy over Tatis in 2019. He is the type of player they believe they need to move on from their middling (at best) past.
“We appreciate what he brought last year,” manager Andy Green said. “We love what Tati is bringing this year.
