SEATTLE —
Fernando Tatis Jr. extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a first-inning homer, his 21st of the season A fifth-inning single in the Padres’ 3-2 loss allowed him to join another exclusive club.
No other Padre has reached 100 career hits faster than the 20-year-old Tatis, who did it in 306 at-bats. One other Padre — Robert Alomar — did so before turning 21 years old.
That’s not all.
His five leadoff homers are tied with Wil Venable for the most in a season in Padres history.
