Jeff Stammen has long known something about his son.
He’s going to bounce back.
“It’s what my dad calls my best attribute,” Craig Stammen said. “He says all the time, ‘You can give up five home runs in a row. I know you’re going to go right after the next guy.’ ”
It’s that resilience manager Andy Green also knows he can count on from the 35-year-old right-hander, dean of the Padres bullpen.
Green turned to Stammen to protect a one-run lead in the eighth inning Thursday night — after Stammen allowed three runs and took the loss against the Phillies a day earlier.
