PEORIA, Ariz. —
Chris Paddack has talked for months about his intention to mitigate damage, which he believes is imperative in taking the next step toward dominance.
If not for a “spring training” home run that carried on the wind and sailed through Arizona’s thin air, Paddack’s outing Sunday would have been a prime example of his doing just that.
The 24-year-old right-hander allowed four runs in the first three innings, three of them on a pair of homers by Cheslor Cuthbert, before taking 11 pitches to retire the White Sox in order in the fourth inning.
