DENVER —
Wil Myers, whose 1.080 career OPS at Coors Field is third highest of any visiting player, is not in the starting lineup for Friday’s series opener.
The decision appeared to be three-fold for Padres manager Andy Green.
Green was compelled to start Hunter Renfroe in left field and Franmil Reyes in right field; they have 11 of the Padres’ 23 home runs and 23 of the team’s 67 RBIs over the past 15 games.
Manuel Margot is the Padres’ best defensive outfielder, which is especially important in the vast Coors outfield, so he is in center.
