With a tough left-hander on the mound, Wil Myers drew Sunday’s start at first base over Eric Hosmer, giving the struggling Myers starts in three straight games for the first time since mid-June.
The payoff in a 7-6 loss to the Giants was a ninth-inning homer, his first since July 2, also against the Giants. A day earlier, Myers doubled twice and drove in his first run since July 3.
“It’s definitely nice getting multiple at-bats,” Myers said. “You have the ability to build your at-bats, be able to make adjustments going into the next at-bat. It’s good to be able to get 12 at-bats in a row and take it from there.
