The Padres’ new lead-off hitter has a burgeoning penchant for starting a game with homers as well.
Manuel Margot’s shot to left field on the fourth pitch of Sunday’s 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks was the sixth time in his career he has homered in the Padres’ first at-bat of a game.
It was Margot’s second home run of the series and the season.
