It appears the Padres are a week away from getting rookie shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. back in the lineup.
“The anticipation he’s back this coming series or next series is way too fast,” manager Andy Green said Sunday.
Sunday was an off-day for Tatis in Arizona, where he is doing baseball activity, including running at something like 75 percent as he works back from a strained left hamstring.
“He’s not full-bore at this point,” Green said. "… We said from the beginning — his pace. We don’t get to dictate the pace. He dictates it by how he feels every day.
