Padres notes: Dodgers not a concern; Cronenworth plan; golf tournament

PEORIA, Ariz. —

At least the Padres won’t have Mookie Betts in a Dodgers uniform rubbed in their faces just yet.

The Dodgers right fielder, who the Padres tried to make theirs this winter, is reportedly recovering from a stomach bug and won’t play when the teams meet Monday in a spring training game.

Man, the Padres wanted Betts. And man, the Padres know the Dodgers didn’t exactly need him.

“Even if they didn’t get Mookie, if they did nothing, they’ve won seven straight (division titles), they’re the team to beat,” closer Kirby Yates said.
