The Padres have to be down to 30 players by 9 a.m. PT on July 24, and many questions remain on how they will construct that assemblage for this unique season.
“I do see it going down to the end,” manager Jayce Tingler said recently. “The world we’re living in right now, it changes day to day. Then (from) the competition standpoint, we’ve got a lot of guys competing and a lot of guys playing well. That makes the decisions extremely tough. That’s a great thing.
