Padres Notes: Chris Paddack back up to speed; the change in Robert Stock

Andy Green thought he could see from Chris Paddack’s first pitch that the rookie was going to aggressively attack in a way that had sometimes been lacking of late.

Certainly, three pitches later, after laying a 94 mph fastball in the heart of the strike zone and having it hit just far enough to top the wall in right field, Paddack showed he was back to being relentless.

“I was like, ‘Gosh, you’ve got to be kidding me,’ ” Paddack said of Tommy Edman’s home run leading off Saturday night’s game. “But I kind of reset. I told myself that one run is not going to beat us tonight.
