All four hits have come in 10 at-bats against the Dodgers, one a game-deciding single last week and the other a home run that was the first run in Monday’s 2-1 victory here. His sacrifice bunt Tuesday also contributed to a five-run inning that gave the Padres a lead they never relinquished.
“I’ll take the big hits,” Hedges said. “Those are obviously fun. But you know what, it’s a small sample size. This entire year is a small sample size.
