The San Diego Padres and the Atlanta Braves were scoreless in the bottom of the seventh inning when Yuli Gurriel pinch hit for Gavin Sheets. With runners at first and second, Gurriel delivered a ground ball to left field just past the diving shortstop. Jake Cronenworth scored from second base and the Padres took a 1-0 lead over the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves were kept off the board in the top of the eighth and Adrian Morejon came on in the ninth to close the game, giving San Diego its third win in three games, 1-0.
