Back when it was announced that he had made the major league team, I wasn’t sure how much of Cory Spangenberg we were actually going to see this year for the San Diego Padres. I’d been watching him for awhile during Spring Training games, reading up on him when his name popped up during minor league news, and seeing him get some time in the pros last season, filling in at various times for injured players. He’s the type of player fans enjoy watching and rooting for, but sometimes in Buddy Black’s lineup their time in the bigs is short lived.
