The Padres were unable to avoid a sweep by the Philadelphia Phillies in San Diego over the weekend, falling 5-3 Sunday.

Andrew Cashner did pitch well in this one, allowing just 3 runs in 6 1/3 innings but the offense was unable to bail him out. Justin Upton hit a mammoth home run to the second deck in left field, but Kevin Quackenbush allowed 2 runs in the 7th to put the Phillies ahead for good. They did manage a late rally but they were unable to finish the job.
