On Friday afternoon, the Padres made a handful of roster transactions, including three involving pitchers.
First, the Padres designated right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo for assignment. The 27-year old appeared in 10 games in 2020, finishing with an ERA of 5.71 and a WHIP of 1.33 and 16 strikeouts.
San Diego then selected the contracts of right-handed pitchers Reggie Lawson and Mason Thompson, as well as infielder Tucupita Marcano.
The 6’4 Lawson was last with the Padres during spring training and most-recently played with the Amarillo Sod Poodles. He ended the 2019 minor league season with a 3-1 record and recorded 36 strikeouts in six starts.
