MONTERREY, Mexico -- The Padres traveled a long way to face the Dodgers in Monterrey this weekend. They'll be waiting a little longer for their first hit of the Mexico Series.
Led by hard-throwing right-hander Walker Buehler, four Dodgers pitchers combined for a historic no-hitter Friday night, the first of its kind outside the United States or Canada.
Buehler worked six excellent innings, the first four of which came under sheets of pouring rain. He struck out eight and walked three before Tony Cingrani, Yimi Garcia and Adam Liberatore completed the 23rd no-no in Dodgers history.
