The Padres jumped out to an early lead in the first inning against the Athletics on Wednesday afternoon, taking advantage of some questionable pitching by Oakland’s Sean Manaea. Unfortunately, the reserves let things unravel through the middle innings and the Friars eventually fell 4-2 to the A’s.
Adrian Morejon was San Diego’s starter on the mound, working 3 2⁄3 innings and allowing a pair of runs, two walks, and a lone strikeout. 28-year old Daniel Camarena and 30-year old Aaron Northcraft each led the Padres with two Ks on the day.
