MIAMI —
It’s not so much that they want more as they expect more.
That’s what can happen when a pitcher is as good as quickly as Chris Paddack.
And so late Wednesday night, Hunter Renfroe thought ahead.
“I believe he will throw a no-hitter one day,” the Padres outfielder said. “I’d like to see him add one more pitch to his arsenal to get people off the fastball and off the change-up. … I think he will (throw a no-hitter). He has the intimidation factor. He has the know-how.”
This is a how a rookie can be talked about when arrives in the major leagues with a base so refined — laser command of two excellent pitches, impeccable, mechanics, a lithe and muscular 6-foot-5 frame, attention to detail that keeps others on their toes.
