Padres drop rain-shortened contest vs. Reds

CINCINNATI -- Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run for the second straight game, but the Reds touched Padres starter Robbie Erlin for seven runs in the second, including Joey Votto's grand slam in a 7-2 rain-shortened loss at Great American Ball Park.

The start of Saturday's game was moved up an hour due to the forecast for heavy rain later in the afternoon. The decision was made Saturday morning to move the game time from 1:10 PT to 12:10 p.m. PT. Despite the move, the game was shortened by rain to just 6 1/3 innings.
