Brian Dozier has been to San Diego only as a visitor, but he is making a donation in the city he hopes will someday be his part-time home.
“This is a perfect opportunity to feed a lot of people,” Dozier said Wednesday morning. “… For me, it doesn’t matter if I haven’t played there or have played there. There are still people that are hungry.”
Dozier and outfielder Tommy Pham, who both joined the Padres this offseason, are partnering with the Teammates for Kids Foundation to donate $20,000 to the San Diego Food Bank as part of the bank’s effort to provide meals to families and seniors who have been impacted by COVID-19.
