The Padres were the home team at the Baseball Winter Meetings, and just like what often happens at the ballpark down the street from the Manchester Grand Hyatt, they didn’t score as much as the visitors.
The game is not over, however.
During a historic three days, due largely to the more than $800 million in contracts agreed to by clients of agent Scott Boras, the Padres did plenty of shaking but no tangible moving.
Several times during every day of these meetings, members of other organizations mentioned the Padres were talking about this and that and every other thing.
