Padres’ catching position still unclear

The San Diego Padres thought that Luis Campusano was going to be their franchise catcher for years to come. His struggles at the plate throughout his tenure with the Padres have been consistent and his defensive ability has been unimpressive.

Campusano has appeared in 168 games since 2020. In that time he made 525 plate appearances, amassed 131 hits, with 70 runs scored and 77 RBI. His career average sits at .250. The numbers for Campusano do not jump off the page, but that could be due in part to his inability to stay healthy over that same time period.
