Padres' Brett Wallace gets Pac-12 honor

Infielder Brett Wallace was among five players with ties to the Padres who were recognized for their collegiate exploits on the Pac-12’s All-Century team announced Tuesday by the conference.

Wallace, who played at Arizona State from 2006-08, was a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Year. He averaged .406 over his three seasons, with 45 home runs and 193 RBIs in 170 games.

“It’s a huge honor,” Wallace said. “Obviously. a lot of great players come through the Pac. There’s some great names on that list. You look at some of those names and it’s pretty special to be mentioned with them.
