SAN FRANCISCO —
Mike Yastrzemski made it moot, as his second home run into San Francisco Bay gave the Giants a 7-6 victory over the Padres on Wednesday at Oracle Park.
The Padres failed to get to 5-1 for the first time since 1996 and also to become the first team to five victories this season, because their bullpen surrendered four runs on two homers in the final two innings.
That ruined a night of growth for Chris Paddack.
Season two is the first season Paddack can go as long as he wants, as long as he deserves.
