Last year I remember a lot of debate going on about what the Padres should do at the deadline. Through 104 games they were 50-54 and about to go through a three-game sweep over the Rangers before heading to Colorado. A.J. Preller and co. ended up making additions to a team that didn’t really deserve them.
This year’s been different though.
Through 104 games San Diego is 54-50 (+26 run differential), tied for the final Wild Card post and currently on a four-game winning streak looking to sweep their season series vs. Washington tomorrow.
There’s nobody asking this question now: Should Preller buy or sell?
