Padres 7, Dodgers 6: Melvin Upton walks off!

A back and forth series opener against the Dodgers ended in the most amazing way possible: With a Melvin Upton walkoff home run. This wasn't a pitchers' duel, with the Padres and scumbags combining for five home runs in nine innings. The one thing we didn't see tonight was Christian Bethancourt's debut in right field.

Brett Wallace drew a one-out walk in the second to start the team's first rally. Alexei Ramirez took one for the team to put him in scoring position, and then Scott Kazmir intentionally walked Adam Rosales with two outs. The joke was on Kazmir, because starting pitcher Christian Friedrich knocked a line drive into center to score two runs.
