Padres 4, Rangers 7: Pads can't capitalize on a good Lucchesi start

Joey Lucchesi bounced back on a previously awful start with an awfully good one today. Unfortunately, the rest of the Friars couldn't ride the Joey train to victory.

Lucchesi went a quick 4 innings throwing scoreless ball, striking out 4. It was the burnt out relief work from a bullpen comprising of new arm Robert Stock, Craig Stammen, Adam Cimber, and Robbie Erlin that would give up a combined 7 runs.

The Padres scoring would come in the fifth inning off a Manuel Margot 3-run home run and a Jose Pirela solo home run in the sixth inning.
