The Marlins took the first of a four game home series set to close out the month of May. They out-hit, out-pitched, and ultimately out-scored a struggling Padres lineup and pitching crew.
Eric Lauer has had two good games this month. Once against the Dodgers at the top of May, another was his previous start against the Nationals. Today’s display against the Marlins was one of his bad ones. Actually, his worst. He was yanked before completing a third inning after giving up 7 hits and 5 earned runs, four of those runs coming from 3 RBI-singles in just the first inning, then one more in the 3rd.
