Padres 2, Giants 3: Friars fall in extras (again)

Wait, didn’t this just happen? It looks like the Padres were doomed to fit in one last awful game of one last awful series to cap off an awful July. Flat out, there was nothing good about being a Padres fan this month.

The Padres lost another extra-inning game, 3-2, to the Giants. They lost 20 games and won five in July. By winning percentage, it is the second-worst month in franchise history. The 1969 Padres went 5-22 in August.

Todays loss couldn’t quite be pinned on pitching, or at least on Clayton Richard.
