Padres 2, Angels 3: Close game ends with a sweep

With one more shot to salvage a series against the visiting Anaheim Angels, the Padres couldn’t get themselves back on top before the final out. It was a game of back and forth sac fly’s and homers, some tight pitching, and the revenge of a former Friar.

Despite starting off the first inning with two straight singles and a run, Robbie Erlin reeled in his performance to a solid 6 innings giving up a max of 2 earned runs off 8 hits. The second run off Erlin came in the sixth, an RBI-single on a 2-0 count.
