Padres 11, Brewers 5: Friars use Manuel Margot and Franmil Reyes to wallop Brewers

The Padres get a really good start to the series in Milwaukee by showing it’s not just the Cubs they can run double-digit scores against. San Diego combined for 14 hits and 11 runs, taking the W easily despite giving up 5 runs.

Clayton Richard didn’t have the best first inning, but he didn’t really need to. He gave up two 2-run home runs to Jesus Aguilar and Mike Moustakas, giving the Brewers a daunting 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. Richard would only allow one more run in the third inning, a sac fly, and the Pads were down 5-2.
