Bret Moutaw began his obsession with baseball nearly 30 years ago, when as a 10-year-old he used to hustle home from Santee’s Cajon Park Elementary School in time to join his father in front of the television for the last three innings of the Cubs broadcast on WGN.
Moutaw’s parents are from Gary, Indiana. His dad is a lifelong Cubs fan who passion was passed to his sons.
“I would be able to see the seventh-inning stretch, the eighth and ninth innings and then the Cubs would blow it in the ninth,” said Moutaw, getting in a reference that would get a knowing nod from long-suffering Cubs fans.
