SAN FRANCISCO — After experiencing some tightness in his left forearm during Monday's loss at AT&T Park, Padres first baseman Wil Myers was not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Giants.
While Myers, who was available off the bench, said he was feeling fine and called it a "normal day off," it appears the Padres are being cautious with one of their most important players. Tuesday was the second time in nine games that Myers did not start.
During the bottom of the fourth Monday, Giants catcher Buster Posey sent a slow grounder toward Padres shortstop Alexei Ramirez, who charged the ball, barehanded it and fired a one-hopper to first.
