On July 21st, the Padres took on the Cubs in the last of their three-game series. San Diego was in desperate need of a win coming into today’s game. After dropping the first two by only a run each game, the Padres deserved a positive result for their efforts against the very strong looking Chicago Cubs.
The Padres looked to Adrian Morejon to breath some life back into the pitching staff. Morejon threw 27 pitches in his 2.1 inning Major League debut. The Cubs got on the board early but fell silent after plating their only run of the night in the bottom of the 1st inning.
