Tony Gwynn would have turned 60 years old on Saturday.
To commemorate a life cut short on June 16, 2014, MLB Network is dedicating 12 hours of programming dedicated to Mr. Padre.
In fact, Saturday’s marathon begins at 8 a.m. with a presentation of its aptly-named “Mr. Padre”, a documentary examining the life and career of the 15-time All-Star, eight-time batting champion and Hall of Fame right fielder.
Four Gwynn-focused games will follow the hour-long feature:
- 9 a.m.: 1994 All-Star Game — Gwynn collects two hits and scores the game-winning run in extra innings;
