The Padres will not play in Mexico City in 2020.
Major League Baseball on Thursday announced that the April 18-19 series — the first regular season games in Mexico City — with the Arizona Diamondbacks will be rescheduled in Phoenix sometime after the season resumes. A series between the New York Mets and Miami Marlins, scheduled for San Juan, Puerto Rico, from April 28-30, will also be moved to Marlins Park for a to-be-determined date.
The start of the 2020 season has been postponed until at least the latter half of May due to the coronavirus pandemic.
