Double-A Amarillo is a win away from winning a Texas League title in its inaugural season.
Right-hander Jesse Scholtens opened a win-or-go-home Game 4 with five shutout innings and shortstop Ivan Castillo and left fielder Buddy Reed both homered as the Sod Poodles beat host Tulsa, 3-0, on Saturday for force one last game.
Sunday’s first pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
Scholtens scattered five hits and three walks in the start. Right-hander Jordan Guerrero followed 1 2/3 scoreless innings and left-hander Travis Radke threw 2 1/3 scoreless frames to earn the save.
