Her deftness with a tennis racket carried Jasmine Edwards from the family home in Southeast Florida to Baltimore’s Morgan State. Naturally, her younger brother by 6½ years, Xavier, was in tow throughout all their trips to local courts until his father had him choose between two loves — baseball or tennis — before his 12th birthday.
