Hodgetown was not a friendly confine in Jacob Nix’s first visit.
The rehabbing right-hander coughed up nine runs while recording only five outs, blowing an early lead in Double-A Amarillo’s 18-9 loss to visiting Tulsa in Game 2 of the Texas League Championship Series.
The series – which will resume Friday in Tulsa – is tied 1-1.
Nix, out all year with a UCL tear that he opted to rehab, had a 1.85 ERA through his first six rehab starts and had allowed only two homers in 24 1/3 innings.
He doubled that in 1 2/3 innings at the Sod Poodles’ hitter-friendly home park and gave up seven hits overall.
