Anderson Espinoza, the 18-year-old right-hander who came over in the trade that sent lefty Drew Pomeranz to Boston, made his Padres debut Wednedsday.
And all didn't go well.
Espinoza worked the first three innings for the Fort Wayne TinCaps in a 14-6 Midwest League loss to Wisconsin.
He worked a clean first inning, then wiggled his way out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the second.
In the third, though, he allowed four runs with two outs.
He threw 56 pitches, 38 for strikes. He struck out one and walked two, while allowing seven hits, six of which were singles.
