The Padres’ top pitching prospect struggled with command in 5 1/3 innings in Double-A Amarillo’s 5-2 loss to visiting Frisco.
Gore (2-1, 4.50) struck out six but walked a career-high four batters and allowed three runs on five hits in his first Double-A loss.
Gore has struck out 20 batters, walked seven and held opposing hitters to a .267 batting average in the Texas League, significantly up from the .
