MacKenzie Gore struck out a career-high 11 batters Monday night over only 4 1/3 innings in high Single-A Lake Elsinore’s 3-2 loss in 10 innings at Rancho Cucamonga.
Gore threw 51 of his 86 pitches for strikes and allowed one run on three hits and a walk in the abbreviated start, raising his ERA ever so slightly to 1.37.
Through 26 1/3 innings with the Storm (11-14), Gore – the Padres’ third overall pick in 2017 – has struck out 38, walked four and allowed 15 hits.
