Luis Torrens spent all of 2017 in the majors.
The road back for the former Rule 5 pick has been slow but steady.
The 23-year-old catcher upped his career-high homer total to 10 in Double-A Amarillo’s 4-0 win at Northwest Arkansas.
For the season, Torrens is hitting .287/.364/.474 through his first 70 games in the Texas league. He hit .163/.243/.203 over 56 games in the major in 2017, when he jumped from low-A all the way to San Diego.
A year later, Torrens hit .280/.320/.406 with six homers and 73 RBIs in 122 games at high Single-A Lake Elsinore and was an All-Star through the first half of his first taste of Double-A ball.
