Even before a concussion ended his first full professional season, Luis Campusano had showcased a knack for hitting the ball hard.
Now he’s getting the ball in the air.
The 20-year-old catcher has mashed a career-high 15 homers and leads the California League in batting average and posting top-two numbers in on-base percentage, slugging, OPS and RBIs in punching his ticket to the prospect-laden Arizona Fall League.
Campusano will be joined on the team by Double-A Amarillo infielders Owen Miller and Hudson Potts. The Padres have not named the four pitchers they’ll send to the Peoria Javelinas, who will begin play on Sept.
