Even back in spring training, his first in big league camp, Logan Allen was anticipating having to make an adjustment. The major league baseball’s seams are smaller than those used throughout the minors, the leather is of a better quality and it was, Allen surmised, going to affect at least some of his stuff. The fact that both Triple-A circuits were going to use MLB baseballs in 2019 only complicated Allen’s conundrum after he realized it was his split change-up that was impacted most.
“I knew I was going to have to make an adjustment,” Allen said.
