Dinelson Lamet moved a step closer to returning to the majors.
The 26-year-old Tommy John patient turned in his best rehab start yet Saturday night, striking out eight over five strong innings in Triple-A El Paso’s 6-1 win at Tacoma.
Lamet allowed one run on two hits and a walk, lowering his ERA to 6.16 over the entirety of his five rehab starts – three with high Single-A Lake (8.00 ERA) and two now with El Paso (4.50 ERA).
The last two have been the longest as Lamet has completed five innings both times out.
